There are some specific tax rules that we have to take into account before we can pay you as a self-employed subcontractor. This is because of the area we all work in and if you’ve worked with recruitment agencies before you may know something of these rules. Basically they are relevant to whether you are, or can be, supervised, directed or controlled by anyone in the manner that you go about your work.
You need to know that the liability for this will not normally fall on you or us but on the agency that has offered you the assignment.
We work with our agency clients to make sure that we have this status position right. This may mean that from time to time we will ask you for information or to complete a questionnaire. When we do, we will need this returning promptly as failure to do so could delay or otherwise affect your payments.
Finally our profit margin (the amount we make) can vary from client to client and even contract to contract. This is often dependent on the terms of the contract and/or the amount of work we need to do. We are always working to keep our costs as low as we can and so it will always be the best value for money we can offer. As soon as you know your contract or client is going to change please let us know so we can discuss any of the above with you.
